Getting Around

Daily flights are available to Lombok from Denpasar, Bali. There are also flights from Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya and other cities. Lombok International Airport is situated at Tanak Awu, some 30 km or an hour drive south east of Mataram.
Public ferries depart from Padang Bai (Southeast Bali) and Lembar (Southwest Lombok) and available almost every hour. The journey takes about 3 – 5 hours.
Fast boat are available from various departure points in Bali to Gili Trawangan. Gili Islands are also easily reached by speedboat from Senggigi.

  • Renting a car or motorcycle will be more efficient than using public transport, if you want to explore Lombok without a tour guide

  • Pay attention to your dress style and behavior. The public-majority island of Lombok is Sasak tribe who still holds the traditions, norms, and spiritual values
